肯亞田徑爆出醜聞，根據英國《每日郵報》報導，一名教練在藥檢時偷偷冒充選手，以為可以神不知鬼不覺，沒想到不但沒有成功，還當場被抓包，直接遭到潛返回國。
據了解，這名田徑短跑教練名叫約翰，先前在800公尺藥檢中，冒充代表隊成員，提供自己的樣品供檢查。綜合外媒報導，約翰是否想冒充奧運金牌魯迪沙（David Rudisha）還需要確認。
肯亞奧委會主席表示，「得知此事後，立即將約翰潛返回國，私自冒充選手，絕對是不能容忍的事情，甚至還簽了文件。」另一位肯亞代表團人員也說，身為資深教練還做假，簡直太愚蠢。
根據過往紀錄，這已經是肯亞代表團第二度有人因禁藥遭到潛返，先前肯亞田徑協會官員疑似使用賄賂手段，幫助選手躲避藥檢，最後下場不僅被潛返，還因此被逮捕。
